| Description |
English: The Keeper's Cottage, Churchplace Inclosure, New Forest. This cottage is on the edge of the Churchplace Inclosure, close to Ashurst Farm, and is the oldest surviving building in the Parish (built around 1810). Church Place Cottage has been home to the Forest Keepers for generations, and is currently occupied by the present keeper. The Forest Keepers are employees of the Forestry Commission and they ensure enforcement of Forest Bye-Laws. As Special Constables they have powers to deal with civil offences. |
