| Description |
English: The Market Square Clock, Wolverhampton Repaved and redeveloped with new retail units, and residential apartments, the Market Square is an attractive area, except for the actual covered market building. Unfortunately, many traders are no longer willing to come here, as for years the market has been positioned well away from the city centre, where visiting international traders and farmers markets are allowed, but our regulars are not. Since the free hour's parking disappeared with the unsafe(?) car park, there is little to encourage the customers here. Less than half the stall space is occupied, so even fewer punters come down here to make their regular purchases from the businesses remaining, and believe me, some of them are excellent. Rumour has it that the whole market will move up to the present Marks and Spencer's area in Dudley Street, but now that the Summer Row development has been delayed, that could be a long way off. |
