Summary[edit]
DescriptionThe Nativity, Gloucester Cathedral. - geograph.org.uk - 1193127.jpg |
English: The Nativity, Gloucester Cathedral. Christopher Whall was a key member of the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 20th century and there are a number of examples of his work in the Cathedral. The Nativity is one of a series in the Lady Chapel showing scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary. The windows, installed in the Lady Chapel by him between 1899 and 1913, are acknowledged to be the finest glass of the period in England and considered to be his most important work. |
