Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: The River Witham, Boston In the past, the changing course of the river Witham meant it could reach the sea through several of the channels through the townlands. Towards the end of the first Millennium the main channel was apparently close to the fen edges of Heckington and Swineshead, leading to the wide estuary of Bicker Haven. However, the Haven silted up and later the main course of the river was via the narrower channel through the town of Boston. |
