Description
English: $1,000 stock (bond) issued by the city of San Francisco in 1851, divided into 40 x $50 increment coupons, lithographed by the first lithographers in San Francisco, E.F. Butler, and signed by John Geary, the first mayor of San Francisco, and by appointed Commissioners of the Funded Debt, P.A. Morse, D.J. Tallent, William Hooper, and James King. Exhibit in the Oakland Museum of California, Oakland, California, USA. This work is in the public domain because its maker died more than 70 years ago. Photography was permitted in the museum without restriction.
