| Description |
English: The context of the Logan Rock at Treryn Dinas. The Logan Rock can be seen here perched on top of this huge outcrop of granite on the Treryn Dinas headland. The famous rock (top right) no longer rocks after it was dislodged and subsequently replaced by a naval lieutenant and his men in 1824 (for more details see this supplemental: 230333). The other rock (top left) is not a logan stone, it is firmly attached to the outcrop beneath. For the first time visitor there is a small sign pointing upwards to the famous rock, lost in the shade in this photo. The seated figure on the grass beneath the rocks gives an idea of scale here. |
