Summary[edit]
DescriptionThe once busy Red Wharf Bay and Benllech Railway Station and Goods Yard - geograph.org.uk - 907250.jpg |
English: The once busy Red Wharf Bay and Benllech Railway Station and Goods Yard This was the terminus of the Holland Arms (Pentre Berw) to Benllech railway built in 1909. In addition to the busy goods yard, it had a 260ft long platform. But, alas, the 10km line had been built too late. Though initially busy, its traffic by the 1920s was being siphoned away by buses and lorries. Regular passenger services were withdrawn in 1930 and the station was closed to freight in 1950. By 1953 the line had been lifted.
