| Description |
English: Idealised single-phase en:transformer showing path of en:magnetic flux through the core.
en:Magnetic flux is produced by the primary winding, and contained by the high permeability core, links the secondary winding. The en:mutual inductance between the two windings results in an induced en:voltage on the secondary side, whose magnitude is determined by the ratio of turns between the two windings. Created in en:Inkscape. ReferenceDaniels, A (1976). Introduction to Electrical Machines. Macmillan Publishers. ISBN 0-333-19627-9. |

- 2007-05-14 00:05 BillC 763×573×0 (42667 bytes) Swap winding direction on secondary winding for an easier-to-view image, while keeping Omegatron's polarity signs.
- 2006-08-25 03:12 Omegatron 763×573×0 (41111 bytes) Fixing voltage on secondary, changing notation to typical polarity symbols instead of arrows
- 2006-04-01 15:35 BillC 750×563×0 (37207 bytes) Hopefully fixed transparency and arrow problems this time
- 2006-03-31 18:01 BillC 750×563×0 (35530 bytes) Transparent background was causing problems with some browsers, so replace with white
- 2006-02-01 16:07 BillC 750×563×0 (35530 bytes) Secondary current arrow was facing wrong way
- 2006-01-01 11:51 BillC 750×563×0 (35476 bytes) Idealised single-phase transformer showing path of magnetic flux through the core. Created in Inkscape. GFDL-self
