Summary[edit]

Description
English: Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan (Nov. 13, 2002) -- Marines from Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (H&HS) process identification cards and passports on a Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) Tracking System as passengers prepare to fly to Naval Air Station (NAS) Atsugi, Japan as part of a NEO exercise during Exercise Keen Sword 2003 at the Air Mobility Command (AMC) Terminal. Keen Sword is a large joint U.S./Japan military exercise held every two years. Instead of a land war against Soviet invaders, the scenarios are now a lot more like the hot-spot conflicts that have been cropping up in recent years. U.S. Army and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force troops have in recent days conducted training in light weapons, mortars, chemical-warfare protection, sniper tactics, and medical care. The participants, mostly active duty and dependent family members aboard the air station, are being flown to NAS, Atsugi for an overnight stay, to return home the next day.
