English: Pacific Ocean (May 27, 2004) - Fire Controlman 3rd Class Steven Adams, of Waimea, Hawaii, connects the wing fins to a RIM-7P Sea Sparrow surface-to-air missile aboard the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). The Sea Sparrow is used aboard Naval ships as a surface-to-air anti-missile defense system. The missile has all-weather, all-altitude operational capability and can attack high-performance aircraft and missiles from any direction.
