English: Pacific Ocean (June 20, 2004) – Ceremonial Guard Members assigned to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) stand at attention during a burial at sea ceremony held on one of the ship’s four deck edge aircraft elevators. Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class R. L. Koehler, assigned to the “Screwbirds” of Sea Control Squadron Three Three (VS-33), was laid to rest during the time-honored event. VS-33 is assigned to Carrier Air Wing Nine (CVW-9) currently embarked aboard Vinson. Vinson and CVW-9 and are operating off the coast of Southern Calif., conducting carrier qualifications and training in preparation for an upcoming deployment.
