  • Significance: The bridge is a lattice truss, and unusual truss type that was built in the U.S. from about 1857 to the 1890s. Riveting all the members of this statically indeterminate truss required more time and work in the field than most American bridge companies were willing to invest. The Berlin Iron Bridge construction of lenticular trusses, constructed this span in 1890.
