English: Urn, Oldway mansion, Paignton This ornamental urn has an effigy attached that looks like Pan. This is associated with human pleasures of summer days. Primulas peep out over the top in mid-February. In the background, the ever watchful surveillance camera collects data to protect us all. The drooping camera globe looks very like the heads of creatures from outer space in a 1950's version of "War of the Worlds". |
