Luís António Vernei (23 Jul. 1713; Évora, 20 Mar. 1793) era arcediago da sé de Évora, tornando-se um conhecido filósofo e pedagogo iluminista no ataque à pedagogia jesuíta e, essencialmente, depois da sua obra O Verdadeiro Método de Ensinar, editado em 1746. Pub. in catálogo Veritatis, Art Auctioneers, Leilão XII, Livros e Manuscritos, n.º 257, Lisboa, 18 de julho de 2012, p. 54, Portugal (avaliado entre 350 e 700 euros).
