Summary[edit]

Description
English: View from above: the hoppers and the harbour The hoppers for the crushed granite were built with bricks manufactured on the spot and had a capacity of up to 2000 tons. The harbour was enlarged several times to cater for larger ships. The white building is the pilot's house; he was responsible for directing ships into position for loading.
