| Description |
English: View over Wingeltang Bay. This bay is also known as Beady Pool due to a wreck in the 17th century of an unknown (believed to be Venetian) ship with cargo of semi-precious beads.
Some say that they can still be found, though the coarse sand on the beach is very much bead-sized and, due to prominent veins of quartz in the headland to the North of the bay, easily mistaken for something other than what it is! There is a large rock just below the low tide line in the bay called Boy Rock. The story goes that this is so-called because the only survivor of the wreck was the ship's boy who was found clinging to it the following morning, he was rescued and adopted by the islanders.
