Summary[edit]

Description The back of the whaler's statue, found in downtown New Bedford, Massachusetts in front of the New Bedford Public Library. The text reads "In honor of the whalemen whose skill hardihood and daring brought fame and fortune to New Bedford and made its name known in every seaport on the globe -- gift of WW Crapo - 1913." The New Bedford Art Museum stands across the street from it, on the right.
