Summary[edit]

Description
English: Wyke Bight, Spurn Peninsula, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
Remains of the concrete sea wall at Wyke Bight, possibly built during WW2 when Spurn was heavily fortified under threat of enemy invasion. Spurn Peninsula is moving ever westwards due to erosion on the seaward side and deposition in the Humber Estuary. These days people have pretty much given up the losing battle against such forces of nature: when the road gets washed away they simply build a new one a bit further west.
