[edit] Colour
It's impossible that the yellow (of verion 22:30, 5. Feb 2006) is the correct shade. Just compare this image to a real flag and you'll see. No, no. This here is almost orange! • Madden 15:30, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- And it's impossible to depict print-colours in RGB. So we should use the colours given in official web graphics like this one. • Madden 15:42, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

- The colours in web graphics even in the official websites are often defined by the web designer and they cannot be trusted as such. While the conversions from printing colours to RGB shades are never perfect, they are usually the best possible approximation for the 'ideal' tones since governments seldom define official RGB tones to be used in web graphics. As the officially defined CMYK tones are also meant mainly for printing, using them in web graphics will often result in oversaturated colours as monitors are self-illuminating and show colours brighter than in printed material. After checking a few photographs, I agree that the shades used here are too dark especially for the yellow. It may be that the source I used for the RAL conversions was incorrect as the Pantone conversions I made in Photoshop for the semi-official PMS codes [1] results in brighter tones. I'll use them instead—I hope the result will be closer to the truth. –Vzb83 16:09, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

- Much better, thanks! The Image:Flag of Germany (state).svg and Image:Naval Ensign of Germany.svg have to be changed then, too. • Madden 16:25, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- I've updated Image:Flag of Germany (2-3).svg with the new colors. User:dbenbenn 23:01, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

- Quote from Vzb83's weblink: "...colour shades had not been fixed by the Federal Minister of the Interior, since these always change in the course of the years..." Please note that the color definitions given there are about 8 years old. German wikipedia tells that today these values are recommended: red #FF0000, gold #FFD700. See [2] for details. After all, it remains a matter of taste. Personally, I think that #FF0000 is way too bright, and I don't like the currently used red tone #DC241F, since I don't see the point in adding blue and green components -- Pumbaa80 17:49, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

- The full and pure RGB red is too bright, I agree. But I like the current red shade. Which red shade do you suggest? • Madden 21:53, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

- #DD0000 looks ok to me: it is about as bright as the currently used red tone, but looks more luscious, not so bleached. BTW: The gold tone is alright. --Pumbaa80 19:58, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Usage symbol (FIAV)
I corrected the FIAV symbol, so that it includes the state ensign as well.--82.135.28.22 12:10, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Turkish description misspelled
Hi.
The Turkish description of the German flag is totally wrong.
Correct is: Almanya bayrağı, not Almannhia (which looks like Spanish or something, but definitely not Turkish :)
[edit] Please replace the link
{{editprotected}} Image:Flag of Germany (2-3).svg -> File:Flag of Germany (3-2 aspect ratio).svg Also please replace all other Image by File. --Conspiration 04:31, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Also, the word unknow has to be replaced by unknown. --Conspiration 04:32, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Additions
{{editprotected}} This file should be added to these categories:

[edit] Changes
{{editprotected}} Category:Black, red, yellow needs to be replaced with Category:Black, red, yellow flags. Additional categories would be Category:Horizontal tricolor flags and Category:Flags with an aspect ratio of 5:3. As a minor issue, you could also replace "Română: Steagul Germaniei" with "Română: Steagul [[:w:ro:Germania|Germaniei]]". Thank you. --Anime Addict AA (talk) 18:32, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
