Well, a stylised older radio like this sort of looks a little bit like a modern compact digital camera... At least, that's what I first read at a first glance, I went "why is the visual domain so far right ?"; then I though "this is the definitely the domain of radio waves..."; and then I understood that this was actually a radio. Things which are more typically "radio-like" would be
  • antenna
  • knob on the side
  • a grid on the loudspeaker

Since this is a "featured image" I might just raise the question here before starting to edit. The wavelength range given for infrared/heat radiation is 1 mm - 1 cm. However, the infrared range begins just outside the visible spectrum, i.e. at c:a 1 цm (micrometer) - a thousand times shorter, says Storebror 20:22, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(undent) Yes it is simply wrong, unless one grants artistic license and considers the infrared band combined with the visual band. The 1 mm to 1 cm range is still wrong for microwaves, but less so. A suggested fix is to make the visual and microwave bands slimmer, and then insert an infrared band between them. I have done something similar with a derivative. Here is a suggested request to the Commons:Graphic Lab School/Images to improve department. I have not made the request yet in case anyone has different ideas and because I may ask User:Tatoute first.

Request: Please squeeze in an infra-red band icon between the rainbow icon and the microwave icon. Please also correct the wavelengths as shown in File:Spectre Terahertz.svg, or refer to w:en:Electromagnetic spectrum. I can do a stop-gap fix myself by copy and paste from the second image but I doubt the result will be the high quality a featured picture deserves (I had problems with the font, and my quickfix icons do not look good in closeup). -- 84user (talk) 02:08, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

0.01 nm = 10 pm[edit]

If we use 1 cm instead of 0.01 m, 1 mm instead of 0.1 cm, 1 nm instead of 0.001 μm, I suggest usind 10 pm instead of 0.01 nm.

Ohh, where are the μm waves?
