English: The Golan Heights, (previously also known as the Syrian Heights), is a plateau on the border of Israel, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. Israel captured the two thirds of the plateau from Syria during the Six-Day War, and since 1981 began treating it as part of Israel. Syria still claims it. Additionally, Lebanon claims a small portion of the area known as "Shebaa farms". See Category:Maps of the Golan Heights.
