Euskara: Hipatia (IV eta V.mendeak) izan zen, guk dakigunez behintzat, filosofiaren esparruan aritutako lehenbiziko emakumea. Bere pentsaera neoplatonismoan kokatuta dago eta, filosofia kontuez gain, matematikaren eta medikuntzaren alorrean egindako azterketengatik ere bada ezaguna.
