Immunohistochemistry is a rather recent histologic tecnique, allowing visualization of specific antigens into a histologic slide from a routine inclusion. In brief, the slide is incubed with an antibody, coupled with an enzyme (most commonly, peroxidase); then the slide is incubed with a chromogen, and enzymatic activity develops a stable coloured deposit where the antigen/enzime complex is present.
