English: Jan Brueghel the Elder (1568 - 1625), son of Pieter Brueghel the Elder, was a Flemish painter, nicknamed Velvet Brueghel, Flower Brueghel, Bauern-Bruegel and Paradise Brueghel.
Deutsch: Jan Brueghel der Ältere [ˈbɾøːɣəl] (* 1568 in Brüssel; † 13. Januar 1625 in Antwerpen), auch genannt Samtbrueghel oder Blumenbrueghel, war ein flämischer Maler und als Sohn Pieter Bruegel des Älteren (genannt Bauernbruegel) Teil der Maler-Dynastie Brueghel.
