L'Oiseau Blanc or The White Bird was a French biplane crewed by Charles Nungesser and Francois Coli, in an attempt to make the first non-stop transatlantic flight from Paris to New York. The plane took off from Le Bourget Airport on May 8, 1927, and was never seen again. Its disappearance is considered one of the great mysteries of aviation.
