Prince Alexander Philipp Maximilian zu Wied-Neuwied (September 23, 1782 in Neuwied - February 3, 1867) was a German explorer, ethnologist and naturalist.

Tagebucheintrag von Maximilian zu Wied-Neuwied vom 31. August 1832. Er zeichnet und beschreibt die Pferdebahn, die zu dem Kohlebergwerk bei dem Ort Mauch Chunk in Pennsylvania, USA, hinaufführt, nebst Weiche und Bremsvorrichtung.
