maps tool still on Toolserver[edit]

{{editprotected}} Hi, I think MediaWiki:Gadget-Gmaps.js has to be migrated to wmflabs (although there still is a redirect). Can someone with admin privileges please check and change.

I would also propose to add parameter '&usecache=1', it works much better e.g. for Category:Geras Mariensäule (ObjektID: 73441), although I do not understand why. But for huger categories it never works without usecache.

The whole resulting line then will be:

    mw.util.addPortletLink('p-cactions', '//maps.google.com/maps?q=http%3A%2F%2Ftools.wmflabs.org%2Fkmlexport%3Fproject%3DCommons%26article%3DCategory%253A' + encodeURIComponent(mw.config.get('wgTitle').split(" ").join("_")) + '%26usecache%3D1', 'Map', 'ca-mapg');

(tested User:Herzi_Pinki/common.js)

maybe it would even be better to call it directly using redir=google? (although I did not manage to do so)

Thank you! Changed accordingly. Though I am not happy that images are loaded from HTTP while being on HTTPS. Therefore I left Para a message. It's very business-like so you probably want to add something friendly and ask about the redirect parameter ;-) -- Rillke(q?) 18:08, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
