The field "other versions" is helpfully used in more wide variety of types of relation between files. I propose to replace the text

Other versions: If you know that there are other versions of this file available at the Commons, link them here, otherwise, leave this field blank.

with something like:

Other versions: If you know that there are other version(s) of this file (e. g. a file derived from this one, a file derived from the same source file as this one etc.) available at the Commons, link it/them here. Also a different file with identical subject (other reproduction of identical artefact or document) or identical or similar view, file with some special relation etc. can be linked if such relation is not sufficiently rendered by a shared category. Otherwise, leave this field blank.

Typo fixed: derivated→derived. – Kwj2772 (msg) 14:59, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
I was going to do this but this seems a lot bigger. Does this make sense to folk? Also I think it's "artifact" rather than "artefact" but maybe that's a US/UK thing? ++Lar: t/c 02:50, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
