The Euro VI prototypes of the New Routemaster.

The initial batch of eight pre-production prototypes (which entered service in 2012) and the first of the subsequent production buses (which entered service from 2013) featured an engine built to the Euro V European emission standard. Prototypes buses fitted with engines to the later Euro VI standard later emerged in 2014, assigned to various operators who were already operating production buses, for use in trial service. Euro VI production buses were introduced from LT273, with the conversion of route 453.

As with the production buses, they were numbered in the class specific LT series and registered in the class specific LTZ series.
