Rosina Ferrara (1861-1934) was an Italian girl from the island of Capri, who became the favorite muse of American expatriate artist John Singer Sargent. Her exotic beauty fascinated the late 19th Century visitors to the island of Capri. She posed for various artists such as Frank Hyde, Charles Sprague Pearce, Alfred Stevens and George Randolph Barse, whom she later married in Rome in 1891. She is immortalized in paintings by these artists which hang in museums and art galleries around the world,
