Samurai were the warrior class of feudal Japan. This category can contain any media related to samurai, e.g. photographs and woodblock prints of shoguns, daimyo, and lower-ranking samurai; castles, residences, graves, and gardens; weapons and armor; daily dress, accessories, palanquins, crests.

Soldiers and sailors in the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy were not samurai, so their media do not belong in this category.
