Talk:Henri Rousseau

I think the most important part of Henri Rousseau paintings is how he takes a realist approach and then strongly forces a subjective view upon it. The way he orders the scene is so tailored to society's makeup that the painting becomes abstract. His paintings have a simple appeal, after close examanination you find yourself looking at the standards you have constructed around yourself. An example of how I found this is in the way he so often portrays the foreground as polygonal and the background as organic. Ryan cyberpostage@hotmail.com
