poirier under the Poirier Project
holdings description poirier In 1968, following the death of Conrad Poirier, Guy Côté, filmmaker and film collector, acquired this holdings. In 1972, he give the majority of the photographs of the holdings at the Bibliothèque nationale du Québec, which transfers the same year, the Archives nationales du Québec in Montreal. At the time, Mr. Côté, a founder of the Cinémathèque québécoise, kept some of his personal papers in the offices of the organization. In the late 1990s, about 1,000 negatives attributed to Conrad Poirier and corresponding to the series "News" and "Radio" Conrad Poirier holdings were found at the Cinémathèque québécoise, having probably been misplaced before the original donation by Guy Côté in 1972. Following the identification of the negatives, the Cinémathèque has transferred them to the Archives nationales du Québec in 1999.

holdings description marcil Champlain Marcil, professional photographer from 1945 to 1985 was used for the daily "The Law" from 1950 to 1970. He died April 2, 2010 in Ottawa at the age of 89. The funeral takes place April 9, 2010 at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Vanier. BAnQ Gatineau acquired the background by Mr. Marcil Champlain in 1989. The fund demonstrates the political, social, cultural, religious, sports and socialites who have made the news in the Outaouais in Quebec and Ontario, mainly from 1945 to 1980.

holdings description barriere Publicity agent for more than thirty years, Félix Barrière worked for several years in the organization of the Association des Marchands Détaillants (Retail Merchants Association) as organizer and assistant secretary-general. He then went to the United States, where he became managing director of the daily newspaper, L'Écho of New Bedford. In 1917, upon entry into the war the United States, Mr. Barrière returned to Montreal and took charge of the newspaper's Le Prix Courant which he directed until 1920, when he purchased various publications including: Annuaire secret des téléphones (the secret phone directory), Handy Phone Index, the Canadian Medical directory, the Album of the Churches and the Album of education Houses of the Province of Quebec. The collection covers the photographs assembled by Félix Barrière as part of his work as a publicist. It mainly contains photographs of churches in Montreal and various cities in Quebec. We also find shops photographs and neighborhood grocery stores in Montreal. The collection finally contains mostly portraits of religious.
livernois under the Livernois project
holdings description livernois The documents of the collection were produced by four generations of Livernois during the 120 years of existence of the studio: Jules-Isaïe Benoît dit Livernois (1830-1865) and his wife Élise L'Heureux-Livernois (1827-1896), their oldest son Jules-Ernest (1851-1933), Jules (1877-1952) from the first marriage of Jules-Ernest and finally, various operators under the direction of Victor (1911-) and Maurice (1920-) until the closure of the workshops in 1974. In 1900, Jules-Ernest handed the studio of photography to his son Jules to concentrate on the sole management of the commerce. He, considered "the official photographer of the capital", directs, from 1933, a workshop where several artists work in the studio as well as outside. Beginning in 1954, two years after the death of Jules and a hundred years after the opening of the studio, it is the decline. In January 1979, a bankruptcy put an end to the photographic history of the Livernois. The Livernois archives holding is considered to be one of the most important in Canada.

holdings description lafleur Louis Roger Lafleur was born in Montreal on July 8, 1905. After his classical studies at the Collège de Montréal, he made his perpetual vows in the Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1930 and was ordained a priest in June 1932. He immediately began his The missionary life and is interested in photography: he even tries experiments in cinema. For 16 years, he visited almost all Indian missions in Quebec. He uses his numerous films to promote the work of missionaries throughout Quebec, the United States and Europe. From 1953 to 1955, Louis Roger Lafleur held the position of director of the Maison de Pensions fermées in Rouyn and until 1959 that of director-economist at the Indian Residential School of Saint-Marc de Figuery. The collection includes negatives and photographs illustrating the lives of the Cree and Algonquins of the Abitibi, as well as the Montagnais and Atikamekws Nehirowisiw of the Mauricie. There are beautiful scenes on the customs and habitat of the Amerindians as well as general views of the villages.
