This categorizes media into Category:Media renaming requests needing confirmation.

produces:

This media object could not be renamed automatically because:
  • the rename request was made by a non-trusted user.

The requested target is Image:target.jpg. A user trusted for this purpose should correct this by:

  • replacing this template with {{rename media|target.jpg}} or
  • removing this template if a rename is not appropriate

and

{{rename needs confirmation}}

produces:

This media object can not yet be renamed because:
  • the template ({{rename}} or {{rename needs confirmation}}) does not specify a target media name or
  • the requested file extension is different from the current file extension or
  • a file already exists at the target media name.

Please change this template to:

Ensure the target has the same extension, and that there is no image there. If a rename is not needed, remove the template.
