Usage[edit]
For convenience it is also possible to substitute the helper template {{subst:VI-add|subpage|scope}} instead. This template is used on image pages as a marker template for Valued images using the following parameters
{{VI|scope|~~~~~|subpage=The subpage}}
where
scope[edit]
is the scope of the nomination, as copied from the scope parameter in {{VIC}} template of the associated Valued images candidate page.
~~~~~[edit]
This third parameter should contain five (5) tilde (~) characters, which will expand to the date and time of nomination in the format HH:MM, dd Mmm yyyy (UTC), e.g., 20:02, 26 May 2008 (UTC). This timestamp is used internally to automatically associate the valued image in category archives of promoted valued images using the {{#time:}} ParserFunction. Thus, the image will be associated with
- Category:Valued images sorted by promotion date (sorted by date of promotion)
and also in monthly archive category, like,
- Category:Valued images promoted 2008-06 (sorted by day of promotion)
subpage[edit]
is an optional parameter for specifying the subpage of the nomination in case it differs from {{PAGENAME}}. This is the case if an edit with another image name is promoted or when a special subpage name has been selected in order to avoid name clashes (when the image has been nominated as VI within more than one scope).
Example[edit]
The following template
{{VI|The construction of the {{w|Manhattan Bridge}}|~~~~~|subpage=Manhattan Bridge Construction 1909.jpg}}
is displayed as
|
This image has been assessed under the valued image criteria and is considered the most valued image on Commons within the scope: The construction of the Manhattan Bridge. You can see its nomination at Commons:Valued image candidates/Manhattan Bridge Construction 1909.jpg.
