The entry on Ypsilanti, Michigan, makes no reference to the origin of this rather unusual name. Is it native American? What--if any--connection might it have to the Russo-Greek Prince Alexander Ypsilantis? The latter was an important figure in igniting the Greek revolution against the Ottoman Empire in the early 19th century.
