disambiguation categories "hidden"?

why are disambiguation categories being "hidden"? Lx 121 (talk) 02:20, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Because they are not "official" categories but kind of system categories which should be empty (and so should not been applied to a file).--Funfood ␌ 05:10, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

All page search

The third link on this template is a search for "all pages". There are two problems with it: firstly if the "disambiguation page" is actually a category, like Category:Function, you get a search for something like "intitle:Category:Function" which doesn't seem to be well defined: you only get a few results [2]. Secondly, regardless of whether the disambig is a page or category, it would be useful to be able to search for all the categories containing the title.

Would it be reasonable to convert it to two links, one for category:intitle:<name>,[3] and the other for intitle:<name>,[4] where <name> has had any Category: prefix removed? --ghouston (talk) 00:34, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
