Please correct permission commentary[edit]

Please, change "Permission to use these images for commercial purposes must be obtained from The Institute of Heraldry prior to their use." to "Permission to use these images in the USA for commercial purposes must be obtained from The Institute of Heraldry prior to their use." Bulwersator (talk) 19:05, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Still under discussion at Commons:Village pump/Copyright#Template talk:PD-USGov-Military-Army-USAIOH.--Prosfilaes (talk) 04:39, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
That discussion is over. (And there's more here.) Consensus supports Bulwersator.
Also, the cited code does NOT only permit non-commercial use of the images. It's less broad than that. Licensed use in commercial manufacturing is permitted, and commercial use that does note involve manufacturing and does not involve commerce in Military medals or decorations is NOT prohibited. So the template's assertion, "Permission to use these images for commercial purposes must be obtained from The Institute of Heraldry prior to their use." is false (i.e. not always true); it should be qualified so that it is (actually) true.
Also: permission can be granted by TIOH or the Air Force Personnel Center or regulation.
So, please, change "Permission to use these images for commercial purposes must be obtained from The Institute of Heraldry prior to their use." to "Permission to use these images in the USA for most commercial purposes must be obtained prior to their use." --Elvey (talk) 21:51, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
Any objections to this proposal? Unless there are opposing views I will change it within a few days. --Jarekt (talk) 14:01, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
