A note on my language skills: As a Western Slav I can understand other Slavic languages as well. For example, when I speak to Czechs or Slovaks I speak in Polish language and they speak back to me in their language. Same situation with the Eastern and Southern Slavs, however I (and they) have to try harder to understand each other while speaking in our languages. I prefer to speak in English language to my Eastern and Southern "brothers and sisters" as most of them use Cyrillic alphabet while Poles (and other Western Slavs - Czechs, Slovaks and Sorbs) use Latin alphabet. Cyrillic alphabet is like a hieroglyphs to me ;)...
