Combining DRs[edit]

Let's say you have:

Commons deletion requests/File:A.jpg
Commons deletion requests/File:B.jpg
Commons deletion requests/File:C.jpg

and they are essentially identical, except for the filenames -- same uploader, same reasons.

Then add:

Also:
*:File:B.jpg
*:File:C.jpg

to Commons deletion requests/File:A.jpg

Add:

#REDIRECT Commons deletion requests/File:A.jpg

to

Commons deletion requests/File:B.jpg and Commons deletion requests/File:C.jpg

Finally, remove

Commons deletion requests/File:B.jpg and Commons deletion requests/File:C.jpg

from the log.

You could accomplish the same thing by changing the target of the delete tag on each of the files and changing the posts on the uploader's talk page, but I think the redirect is easier and cleaner. Of course, you have to use judgement -- if one of our colleagues goes through User:X's contributions and nominates a bunch of them, if they look non-controversial, just ignore them. But if they look like they will generate discussion, then go to it. Remember that if you make a mistake, you can always back out of it.
