Matt Roberts (born July 27,1972) is an American writer and former radio Talk show host who currently writes for Examiner.com.During his tenure with Examiner,Roberts has published several interviews with notable comedians,crime figures and television personalities.
Roberts was born in San Diego,California, His mother, Michele, worked as a buyer for several major department stores. His father Arturo, a son of a Mexican immigrant,was a self-taught musician and artist who learned to play the drums at a very early age. Roberts has four siblings,a brother and three sisters. Roberts lived in several states growing-up but spent a majority of his youth living in South Lake Tahoe, California, where he attended South Tahoe High school.
Matt met his wife, Nicolle in 1995 while living in New Orleans, Louisiana. The couple married in 1996 after a year of dating. Matthew and Nicolle have been together over 17-years, and have no children. Roberts and his wife lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for six-and-half-years before returning home to Louisiana in 2003. Avid animal lovers, Matt and Niki devote their lives to their colony of dogs.
Roberts and his wife survived Hurricane Katrina in 2005 by evacuating to Natchez, Mississippi with their dogs the afternoon before the storm made land fall. After a sleepless night spent at a local Wal-Mart parking lot, Roberts, his wife, and her parents drove back to their home from Natchez, cutting and clearing their way through down trees and debris along the way.
