[edit] Requested images

Hello, I saw hairy things the images featured here: Astronomical symbols, and wondered if you could make a few more images for the page? We need images of the same font as the rest on that page for the other symbols, so that people without the Unicode can see them, we will then list the Unicode strings in their appropriate cells. [edit] File:EightTNOs.png

Hello,

the image File:EightTNOs.png needs to be updated to include the newly discovered TNO 2007 OR10, which is probably larger than Orcus. Also, Quaoar's moon is missing. Could you do these changes? --129.70.15.51 15:51, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Tip: Categorizing images

Hello, Lexicon!

Tip: Add categories to your images

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

Uploadwizard-categories.png

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations"). Pro-tip: The CommonSense tool can help you find the best category for your image.

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

[edit] Crest of the GG of Canada

Hello,

I revert your edit for the crest because the originally crest is based directly on the Governor General of Canada's own website: www.gg.com & [1], but if you still like the version you uploaded may I suggest you upload it as a stand alone variant? Anyway thanks for your contribution Sodacan (talk) 23:39, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

[edit] File:Flag of Taliban.svg

Hello. What is your source for changes you did here? This source (by Jaume Ollé) noted that the ratio is 1:2, according to a Taliban representative abroad, like a version of User:Denelson83. The official site of the Taliban, posee una different big shahada, but with the design of Saudi Arabia, which you criticize.--Falerístico (talk) 19:49, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Some weeks ago, i emailed Volker Preuß, site maintainer of http://www.flaggenlexikon.de. He told me that the shahada ist not the same like the saudi-arabien one, but rather similar to a Variant from Yemen. But, anyway, you should not care about such details like ratio, fonts or color shades in afghan flag, there are to many variants--Antemister (talk) 18:09, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Anyway, I think the Taliban flag should be in ratio 1:2, both the white field as the shahada. I have a version as well. I do not know what you think of the change.--Falerístico (talk) 14:11, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
