Good job with the stitching together the files, even though it was tough. I knew those 4 images would be hard to assemble because the x and y orientation of the camera was changing, and in panoramas, only one of those axes is supposed to change. Also, the viewpoint was from a bridge and not from the bottom of the waterfall which made stitching even harder. But an overall good job!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.

To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.

You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

To allow others to use your files, some additional information must be given on the description page. Most importantly:

  • Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
  • State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikimedia user, link to the person's local user page. Best to use CommonsHelper.
  • If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
  • Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
  • Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others. To find out where an image belongs, you can use CommonsSense.

If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki. Use CommonsHelper.

It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.

You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file.

Hey! Nice that you want to help us. In case you did not know this category is checked by a bot. The bot also uploads a larger version of the image if it excists. Thats why many of us let the bot do the job and only look in the subcats. --MGA73 (talk) 18:59, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Kremlin photos

Hi Odinn, I know that you often upload photos from Kremlin.ru, I am just pointing you to something in case you haven't noticed it. The Russian site has undergone a redevelopment and photos on the Russian site are now available in larger sizes, e.g. File:Dmitry Medvedev in Turkmenistan 13 September 2009-1.jpg. The English site is still the same as the old format, and photos on the English site are still only in the earlier smaller size. So if adding photos from Kremlin.ru it may be advisable to check the Russian site for the photos first...but I think you do this anyway.

I would have left this message for you on en:wiki, however, according to en:User:Sandstein I am just a disruptive user, and has basically banned me from even mentioning the word Russia or any Russian name, etc on English WP. It's true, tedious and ridiculous I know. Read en:User_talk:Russavia/Archive_12#Topic_ban and all of that below, and the AN/I discussion.

I saw you review these images, including one I uploaded. Thanks for doing that but my advice would be: since the bot is clearly doing nonsense tagging derivative work I made the decision to simply revert the bot actions for such cases, it saves time. Hekerui (talk) 23:37, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Don't agree that it is "nonsense" but apart from that images should not fail if original is reviewed. It is also a good idea to check file history before marking as copyvio. I found some images like File:NPU Dragoman01-Kiew.jpg where it is own work. --MGA73 (talk) 16:20, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello, thank you for reviewing my uploads in Commons. Now I made a mistake in THIS file by calling the author: Garibulo. His real name is however: Gabirulo. Could you please change this? Hi. You marked a lot of images for speedy deletion because of their licensing on flickr, although they were uploaded under a free license to by the author.
