Hello, Мико!

Tip: Add categories to your images

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

Uploadwizard-categories.png

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations"). Pro-tip: The CommonSense tool can help you find the best category for your image.

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

5ko 11:55, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Deletion request for Image:Siméon 1er Le grand - Tsar de Bulgarie.jpg[edit]

Hi there, I noticed you initiated a deletion request for Image:Siméon 1er Le grand - Tsar de Bulgarie.jpg. However, you did not complete the request; consequently the discussion is not yet valid. Please complete the steps given in the delete template on the image description page. Thanks, ~ Riana 18:52, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry I didn't see this note earlier. The procedure of requesting a deletion is kind of too obscure for me to follow - I provided a link to the source. --Miko Stavrev 09:47, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

J vs. Ј[edit]

Hey Miko, I think we already talked about this, but I'll have to remind you again. Please don't forget that the cyrillic Ј and latin J are Unicode homoglyphs, but have different codes. When writing in Macedonian, please make sure to switch the keyboard layout to MK, so you don't accidentally do this kind of stuff again ([1] and [2]). Oh, by the way, от in Macedonian is од, keep that in mind. ;) --iNkubusse? 13:47, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Ha-ha - that it's од I know but I usually forget it - you know why :-)). I know that the Cyrillic and the Latin j have different codes but cause they look the same I generally don't bother to switch layouts - I will if you thinks that's a problem.--Мико (talk) 14:21, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh yeah, it's a serious problem. It's often used for malicious actions, so it's better if you don't. ;) --iNkubusse? 15:19, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Ha - ha malicious actions??? In what way? OK - I won't mix them anymore.--Мико (talk) 20:05, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
No, seriously man, didn't you know? You can do a lot of stuff with that! Not that I have tried it, of course... You can read about it on Wikipedia or search Google, if you're eager. TO understand, of course, not to use it lol. It's a cheap trick, but you can trick inexperienced internet users into... Many things. :) --iNkubusse? 16:30, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

What?[edit]

Haha, what? --iNkubusse? 15:01, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Haha - what is the problem - the sign reads the same in Mk lit language and in Bg lit language - I wrote it myself :-)))))
I thought you say 'grass' differently. Also, 'те моли' looks weird to me. I thought the verb goes before 'те', like in 'не гази ме'. In Macedonian, 'не ме гази' would be way more natural, but in poetry (like this little piece of poetry written by you :P) this construction is allowed too. Oh well, ok then, nice trick. You can do the same with Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian, Ukrainian, Russian, and maybe even Czech and Slovak (I doubt Polish). --iNkubusse? 14:04, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
All applies to Bulgarian as well :-)). You are right only for the place of the verb - in a formal text it should be "Тревата те моли, не ме гази, боли ме" but of course "Тревата те моли, не гази ме, боли ме" is normal as well as "Тревата те моли, не гази ме, ме боли". :-)--Мико (talk) 14:24, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Oh, you missed this one a bit. I don't say many things don't apply; our grammars are very similar, of course they do. But, as for this matter, „боли ме“ could never be used in Macedonian (not even in poetry :P). „Не гази ме“ can, however, but „Не ме гази“ is the right one. --iNkubusse? 14:29, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Ooo not even in poetry - there are no rules for poetry :-)) Imagine a poet with Macedonian national conscience from lets say Sersko - "боли ме" is the standart in Southeastern Macedonia.--Мико (talk) 15:07, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
I was refering to Macedonian standardized language. ;) --iNkubusse? 15:21, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Ха - ха. You'll come to our point of view, my friend. :-))))
What? That was really awkward... Was it supposed to be an evil-sounding 'be one with the Borg'-like statement? I must say, you're a bit foolish, having your mind focused on one thing only, day and night... Trying to prove something that even you don't believe in. I haven't changed my attitude towards these issues for a long time now and I don't think I am going to, ever. But I doubt you even know my position, my friend. You see, I'm very interested in languages and I've perforated deep through the barrier of south-Slavic grammar, especially my own grammar, of course. It's a fact that the Macedonian grammar and the Bulgarian grammar are very similar to each other, more than to any other of the Slavic grammars. Just like the Russian and the Ukrainian one, but not as much as the Serbian and the Croatian (which act as nothing else but two dialects). Now, if two languages have similar grammar, it doesn't make them the same langauge, does it? Grammar is not all that counts (and remember, it's only similar). You're also forgetting that languages develop and evolve over time, which led to the present situation of having a vast number of languages on a small territory (such as Earth). Remember the time when we all spoke the old Slavonic language? Then it branched into several similar languages, and here we are now, speaking two distinct languages. Of course our two languages have many similarities; all the Slavic languages do! And of course Macedonian is the closest to Bulgarian - they're territorially the closest! I really can't see your problem... What's troubling you? Jeez, I can't believe you made me write all this! --iNkubusse? 16:05, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Ha-ha, me too - I was just joking.:-)))--Мико (talk) 16:37, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

By the way, Konstantin Miladinov was not from Bulgaria, but I don't mind the category. --iNkubusse? 15:03, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Neither from RM :-) - but I don't mind the Cat either.--Мико (talk) 17:55, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
No, my friend, but he was from what is now the RM, right? I mean, in my passport, it says I was born in Serbia! That's not damn right, but what can I do, those are the rules for passports. --iNkubusse? 14:04, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
He was from what is now the RM for sure. --Мико (talk) 14:24, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Why did you revert the deletion request?[edit]

Yes - I reverted it cause there was no reason given. For all we know it could be of course a copyright violation but I assume good faith and think that Boyan really owns the rights and has released his own picture in pd. --Мико (talk) 15:33, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Мико, the image most probably was not made/taken by the original uploader. He just put a random free tag (pd, actually), without specifying the source. It's definitely going to oblivion. :) --iNkubusse? 16:51, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
OK - if he doesn't provide a source - delete it. :-)--Мико (talk) 16:56, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
It's my fault. I should have been more specific. Btw, I'm not counting on it (on the OP giving a source). There are many, many pics like this one that need to be cleaned up. --Brainmachine (talk) 19:20, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
It's always your fault, Brainmachine! DIE BASTARD, DIE! :D I'm kidding. I just don't have anyone else to say this to, so I'm abusing the Commons. :) Cheers (and delete aaaall the copyvios!)! :D --iNkubusse? 20:12, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Incorrect filename and description of a picture you uploaded[edit]

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sk-Te_highway.jpg

This is not the Skopje-Tetovo motorway, but Skopje-Miladinovci, on the eastern side of Skopje. I'm new to Wikipedia so I'm not sure what should be done in these situations. Can you please fix it. BuildMk (talk) 01:44, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

As sure as it gets cause that picture was taken by me :) I don't know how it found its way to flickr under that name. BuildMk (talk) 17:23, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

I've been through the SK-TE highway an infinite number of times (once on my bike) and I don't really remember this instance. :) I don't know for sure, but I think it's another one. --iNkubusse? 21:40, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Здрасти to you too :)! You are quite right, although "Kottas" is by the more common form of the man's name, it is also found as "Kotas", incl. in the village's name. Good catch! Constantine 13:31, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Thank you.

This message was added automatically by Sz-iwbot, if you need some help about it please read the text above again and follow the links in it, if you still need help ask at the ? Commons:Help desk in any language you like to use. --Sz-iwbot 16:53, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Dilofo Zagori Bridge.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the OTRS system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. Thank you.

Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Commons-emblem-issue.svg Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue.
Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
