I believe the original owner - of the photo - has ceased to exist, and that the ownership, and copyright ownership may also have ceased.
I already explained to someone else, that, as it is not possible to link media hosted on other projects - as this image is [such as Dutch, to German, to English], the only way is to re-upload the media on Commons, or alternatively on each project. Could you tell me if this is not permitted??

The reasons are the same as for those above. Again, if you could tell me whether transferring material to Commons is permitted, I would be grateful. (RM21 19:53, 19 July 2006 (UTC))

In Germany, the copyright ceases after 70 years after the death of the photographer, which is probably not the case for these photos. It is permitted to transfer material to commons, if it is published under a "free" licence. For more details, ss Commons:Licensing. --Ahellwig 10:45, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Rasputin-closeup.gif. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Ich habe das Bild vom Copyright-Inhaber Starmedia Entertainment GmbH (Frau Linda Berger, Sales Director) bekommmen, mit der Erlaubnis, es für Wikipedia hochzuladen. Es ist alles per E-Mail dokumentiert. Ich verstehe nicht, warum das Bild wieder gelöscht werden soll.

Hallo! Beim Bild stand "Erlaubnis zur Veröffentlichung auf Wikipia". Abgesehen davon, dass hier nicht die Wikipedia, sondern Commons ist, sieht keine der hier akzeptierten freien Lizenzen eine Einschränkung der Benutzbarkeit auf ein bestimmtes Teilprojekt vor. Außerdem ist unklar, was mit "Veröffentlichung" gemeint ist: schließt dies eine mögliche Veränderung des Bildes oder (kommerzielle) Weiternutzung ein? --Ahellwig 11:21, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

HI yes a few of my pictures are screen shots from television. It is in category copywright but use of limited low resolution pictures for critical commentary qualifies as fair use under US law. How do you select this? The majority of my Bon Jovi pictures are my own taken in Dublin. But One or two are screen shots are from television though, but they need to be in this label. "Fair use" may be allowed in the US but is considered a copyright violation in many other countries. The majority of your concert pictures look fine, but some of them look like photographs of some screen, e.g. Image:Jon Bon Jovi live.jpg. --Ahellwig 12:49, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

I´ve changed the Licence of image:Gasberg 1918.jpg from PD-old to {{PD-reason|The photographer is unknown and the photo is more than 70 years old. According to the Bern Convention and the law of most countries, this photo is in the public domain.}} like another user did with image:Schwammpost.jpg I hope this is a solution of the Licence-problems of old Fotos...
