Naming convention for audio files[edit]

Hi, please read up on the (informal) conventions for the naming of audio files (Category:Spoken Wikipedia and Category:Pronunciation) and, if possible, correct uploads you have already made. Please ensure that all future audio uploads for pronunciation and/or read versions of Wikipedia articles adhere to it. If they don't, things will be a mess... Cheers! Hello and thanks for letting me know about the mess up. I have marked all the files for speedy deletion using {{bad name|correct name}} and I have uploaded new pronunciations with correct file names. I suggest that the category links you mentioned be put up on the upload page so that users understand these basic rules. I did try to find basic guidelines on file naming but could not find anything. I should have looked harder. Anyway, thanks again! — Aksera 14:20, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
No problem. I don't think that adding the links will help. They would confuse, as very few are interested in the type of project you are developing. Luckily I cought you in the act early ;). You might want to recat the audio files to Category:Hindi pronunciation (if it is pronunciation by a native Hindi speaker indeed). I'll try and help you with that a bit. Thank you for your valuable contributions! Siebrand 06:15, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
