Hi Alessandro, thanks for uploading. However, two remarks. We prefer images without watermarks and you should be aware that everybody is entitled to crop-away the watermark in File:French Bulldog - Bouledogue Français.jpg. In addition, the EXIF data for the aforementioned image carry a note "tutti i diritti sono riservati", which contradicts to your CC/GFDL licensing of the image. Could you change that to the current license. Thanks. --Túrelio (talk) 09:49, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Get confused[edit]

Sorry, mate, I'm really busy this period, so... if there's a way to hide my picture in the meanwhile, go on. Next time I'll upload pictures without the Copyright sign and without EXIF data, to avoid "copyright (of my own copyright) infrangement". Have a nice weekend! (talk)

Alessandro, it is not forbidden to upload watermarked images, so there is no need to "hide" your image. Actually what has happened was this: another user saw the (C) Alessandro ... watermark and thought the image to be a copyvio. Therefore I followed the link to the source and found your userpage at deviantart with your real name on it. I do not doubt that you are the rights holder, so legally there is no problem with your image. --Túrelio (talk) 13:50, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

so... ok![edit]

Thank heaven :) Sometimes it happens: when I try to partecipate in a photo contest, usually someone says: "It's not your picture, it's from Internet" :P Thank you for understanding. Next time I'll delete EXIF data (there are useless here; in addiction they create confusion as before!). I just hope nobody will steal my pictures, as I found about that one: http://500px.com/photo/737149 :) So, "You agree that a hyperlink or URL is sufficient attribution under the Creative Commons license"... what does it means? If I'll decide to delete - for example - the first link where I posted my picture (or the internet site where I posted goes down) and someone use that (my) picture, how can I prove that I'm the author? (Please try to understand my "fear", but art stealing is so easy in the Internet era...). Thanks for your patience, my friend.

I'll delete EXIF data - feel free to do that, but I would not recommend it. Recent images without EXIF data are often viewed critically, as all digital devices produce EXIF data. These data also can be helpful for other photographers to see how you made a shot. I would just recommend to replace the "all rights reserved" by "some rights reserved" or "Creative-Commons ... license". --Túrelio (talk) 16:21, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

-- All right, but now... there's a way to edit the EXIF of the picture I've alrady uploaded (the dog) ? Otherwise, I'm afraid I'll always see This file may meet the criteria for speedy deletion. ...if nobody (but you) trust me. Sorry if I'm such a n00b here! :)

No, there is currently no real danger that this image will be deleted. I (Windows platform) use the tool freely available here + the GUI freely available here for editing EXIF data of my own uploads. But there are more such tools available. You could take the image version which you have uploaded, edit the relevant part and re-upload it over the original image (see link "new version" [1]). --Túrelio (talk) 21:36, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
