Hi. When you upload a file twice (Image:DSC 0728.JPG), please try to remember to tag the one with an incorrect name with {{bad name}}, so that an administrator can delete it. Kjetil _r 21:13, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

You should not publish contents of an E-mail unless they give you permission. That's why I removed it. I wouldn't restore it, the contents of it are stored in OTRS, which is where E-mail contents should be stored. Though if you did, I won't go crying to anyone or remove it again. Hm. I was meaning to reply to that thread on the village pump, last night, but the page wasn't loading for me at the time. Judging from the page history at VP, linking to the image is problematic, so I'll avoid doing so here. William Avery got the image to work by using it as a thumbnail, it seems. Nothing I tried worked, it doesn't appear to be any fault of the infobox being used. Previewing edits on pages displaying the image tends to generate the "Wikimedia is having technical difficulties" screen, for me; there must be something about this image that the server(s) don't like. Excuse me, I did just that, forwarded the email, the same minute I uploaded the image, and it says as much on the image. And this isn't the first one I've done just this way, I'm a reasonably prolific contributor to commons, and a trusted user (Flickr image reviewer). This is, however, the very first time my image was tagged for deletion in the meanwhile until the OTRS folks reacted. I wonder if you would be so kind as to remove the deletion tag to give the OTRS people time to react. It quite often takes them a number of days (I have done this before!), and it would be a shame if the image were deleted in the meanwhile. --AnonEMouse 17:48, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Commons images are used by editors on many projects in many languages. Each image is put into categories. This helps other editors find them. Please add categories to each image you upload.

To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbit of comets, add the following to the image description page:

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories: Astronomy diagrams, Comets.
