Warning tags[edit]

Please do not revert warning tags without supplying the necessary documentation. At Image talk:Kaliontzidis.jpg there is no mention whatsoever of which license the author agrees to release the images under, and his images have been uploaded here under two different licenses. This is not a question of good faith; the license will have to be documented for the life of the author plus 70 years, and by then none of us are likely to be around. It's also clear that Image:Hamshen Wedding Band.jpg can't both have been taken in 1957, 50 years ago, and be more than 70 years old, which makes it harder to accept other licenses on good faith only. If you continue to remove tags without supplying documentation, you may be blocked for disrupting Wikimedia Commons, and none of us wants that to happen. Cnyborg 01:34, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

I changed license to Armenian Public Domain exception for following images:
 *Image:Djivani2.jpg
 *Image:Hamshen Wedding Band.jpg
 *Image:Hamshen Tulumci.jpg

I believe that license properly describes the nature of the pictures and justifies their usage here in Commons for illustrative and educational purposes. If you feel that this is not an appropriate license please let me know. For example, image of Djivani (who died in 1907) has obviously been taken by a photographer in his era. I found no reference to the name of the photographer anywhere, he is anonymous. Moreover, this seems to be the only picture of him carried over from one publication to another without showing author's name. Therefore it seems to be a public domain de facto. As far as the other two images, they come from Barunak Torlakyan's publication published by Yerevan University in 1986, however there is no reference to who's pictures are they and where they come from. I will try to make all efforts possible contact the publisher. Again, these pictures were probably collected or taken by Barunak Torlakyan from locals during his expedition trip, but there is no information in the book of who was the photographer and how pictures were obtained. I suppose, at the time of publishing, such information was not negligent. This publication does not even have an ISBN number. If you tell me that it is still a bad idea to put these images in the article I will gladly remove them and forget about this. I just feel very uneasy about all of this. Regards.
