Original raw version of your Bangkok picture?[edit]

Hi, do you have original raw picture available for this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bangkok_Night_Wikimedia_Commons.jpg ?

I would like to print it on my wall. Thanks for awesome picture! My talk page.

Hi, sorry I took so long to reply. Thank you for your interest on my picture, but I'm sorry to say that I won't give away the RAW sources of (any of) my picture(s), unless it is for someone I trust and know for long enough. They are the only proof I'm the author of the pictures. I don't have a much bigger size than what Wikipedia offers, so that'd be anyways hard for you to cover a whole wall without sacrifice in resolution :) Regards, Benh (talk) 09:49, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Profile size and activity criterion for Commons:Meet our photographers[edit]

Dear member of Commons:Meet our photographers,

Two issues have recently been raised at Commons talk:Meet our photographers:

Profile size creep
The page is becoming increasing cluttered due to a tendency among some members to make personal profiles, which are unreasonably large. You are kindly requested to consider the size used by your profile and consider if it has a reasonable size. Note that the same message is being send to all members, so it is up to you to use your own good judgement in this. We are not interesting in setting up exact quantitatve rules. It should be a matter of common sense.
Activity criterion
It has been suggested to introduce an activity criterion in addition to the minimum 10 FPs criterion to be included on the list. You are kindly requested to voice your opinion on this proposal.

Two featured picture candidates on the English Wikipedia[edit]

Hi Benh. I am more impressed every time I see your panoramic gallery. :-) You have a lot of great images that I'd like to nominate on the English wikipedia, but for now I have nominated two of them from Luang Prabang. I actually stumbled across them while researching for a trip that I'm planning. Shame you have beaten me to take those photos :-). Luang Prabang looks beautiful, and surprisingly clear sky. I found Thailand very hazy, but I guess you just picked the right time of year. I am looking at visiting in around Feburary to April. Anyway, congrats on the photos. I'm sure they will do well on En:FPC. Diliff (talk) 14:00, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

International Photoworkshop[edit]

Hello, motivated by the six Fotoworkshops of the German Wikipedia an international Photoworkshop in the Swedish Nyköping will be launched during the Easter Weekend 2010. Nyköping was chosen since Skavsta Airport is a Ryanair Base and very close to Stockholm. Further information can be found on Commons:Photoworkshop_Nyköping_2010.--Prolineserver (talk) 22:28, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Matériel pour panos[edit]

Bonjour ! Merci d'avance ! Jastrow (Λέγετε) 10:37, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Utilisation de vos photos[edit]

Bonjour,

Cordialement. - Benh (talk) 20:23, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You voted to support this. I can only presume you haven't thouight this through:

Consider:

  • Those that nominate good FPs must wait 10 days to nominate again.
  • Those that noiminate bad FPCs need only wait 5 days (Rule of fifth day closure) or even just 1-2 days (FPX).

This means that the spammers will be able to put out more than the good contributors at a rate of as much as 10 to 1 in the worst cases.

Further, it's not unusual for potential FPCs to get finished in batches. A photographer comes back from vacation, or a restorationist finishes several projects in a burst of enthusiasm.

This proposal would force people to work on a timescale lengthy enough to kill all enthusiasm.

It gets worse:

This gives a strong disincentive against nominating work by anyone but yourself. People who go through and select high-quality works by others are usually to be praised, however, this proposal causes them to be punished.

I would ask that you reconsider your vote, and consider options 2 or 5, which are more restrictions than are currently in place, and which may always be built upon or increased later. Adam Cuerden (talk) 02:50, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

hi benh lieu song, i'm interested in using your photo of St. Chappell Cathedral as the base of a larger piece of work and was wondering if you could email me at j.schiffer _at_ hotmail _dot_ com to discuss it and if I could get your formal permission to use it as a base photo.

Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon. And as a side note your photos are spectacular. I have been looking for pictures of St. Chappell Cathedral for a while, but I spent about 30 minutes looking at the rest of your portfolio. Amazing Work.

message[edit]

Rama (talk) 22:29, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bonjour !

Rama (talk) 09:52, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Paris Night[edit]

Hello Benh, I am working on Snowboard Deck designs for a few design contests I hope to enter. I have created a design using your photo Paris Night( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Paris_Night.jpg#filehistory ). I was wondering if it is ok that I enter the design (http://s206.photobucket.com/albums/bb4/kraut3602/?action=view&current=ParisDeck-SoftLight-1.jpg) in contests where money is a possibility. Thank you for your time, Kraut

  • No problem for me as long as proper credits are given somewhere. Anyways, I don't believe the fact it's Paris by night is fundamental in your design. - Benh (talk) 17:27, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please get in contact![edit]
